Add a sales tax rate to your invoices

Last updated

Tax is off on Locally 360 invoices until you switch it on. In Invoice settings, set Tax mode to Manual rate and save. Then add each rate with a name, a percent and a jurisdiction.

Steps

  1. Open Invoices, then Settings.
  2. Under Tax, set Tax mode to Manual rate. If you have one, fill in your Tax registration number. Press Save settings.
  3. Under Rates, fill in Name, Percent and Jurisdiction. If your prices already include tax, tick Tax is already included in the price. Press Add rate.
  4. Pick a Default rate and press Save settings again.
  5. On each invoice, lines marked Taxable use the default rate, or a rate you pick for that line.

What happens next

New invoices show Subtotal, Tax and Total. To stop using a rate, press Retire beside it.

Questions

Does Locally 360 work out my sales tax?

No. You set your own rates, and automatic tax isn't available. Your accountant or your state can tell you what to charge.

Which lines get taxed?

Lines marked Taxable. Goods are taxable by default, and you can tick or untick any line.
